Her will clearly states "November last". William's will left her 1/3 of his estate so she had plenty herself and she may have added to it. What was divided in 1793 was William's estate. I had Heritage Place check the Bertie Cross Indices for 1808 yesterday to see if there was an entry for Sarah as the grantor and Sharon said no. Too bad as it must have been a "gentleman's" agreement. Maybe there are estate records for Sarah at the NC Archives. Also the Cross Indices need to be checked to see if there is any possibility this could have been entered some other way. It is very unusual for that time period for the spouse of the daughters not to be named in estate records. Too bad Sarah's wasn't. > >4. Sounds like a good bet - that name Fleetwood is coming from somewhere. I understand William Parrott stayed and died in Bertie but don't know if he had a Will. The Hardy family in Bertie is on my list of things to do but not until I get the rest of my Lenoir and Greene families on the database then will Bertie all at one time. Have to do Pitt first. Course, the main reason for working the Hardy family in Bertie was to find the wife of Benjamin (Oxley) and think that has been done but would like a little more in the way of hard cold proof.
