Not proven as the father. Census and land records seem to confirm Kin. Recieved info from NULA TINGLEFF 12/28/2000, Matthew Ward recieved land "already living on " from Isaac Hines, and Joel was a witness ca 1797. His wife was Ann?? She wanted to know if this could be a dau of Isaac'. It very well could be. Book 3A, page 542 Wm (William) Turnage of Green Co., to James Wade of Duplin Co., 8 Dec 1808, for $450, 300A on the NS of the Northeast Swamp & on Poley Bridge Branch, beg. at a stake & gum in sd. branch, to the beg. corner of a patent granted to JOEL HINES for 240A, to a pine near the co. line, to a gum in Wolf Branch near the fork of the same & Buck Pond Branch, to the back line of the survey, being part of a survey granted to Matthew Ward for 120A & part of a survey formerly belonging to ISAAC HINES & sd. Ward conveyed to the sd. Turnage. Wit: Basil Kornegay, Jesse Turnage, M. Wilkins. Apr.Ct.1809 p.52. MATTHEW WARD of Duplin Co. to WILLIAM TURNAGE of Green Co., 4 Feb 1808,for 476 pds. 670A on Poley Bridge, a branch of the Northeast, in 2 tracts towit: (1) 550A beg. at a stake in sd. Branch & runs to the beg. corner of a patent granted to JOEL HINES for 240A, to a corner of a 300A survey conveyedby deed from ISAAC HINES to sd. WARD, the corner of a patent granted to ISAACHINES for 100A, exclusive of a piece of 50A which is covered upon by part ofa patent belonging to JAMES OUTLAW; (2) 120A being part of a patent grantedto JOEL HINES for 240A, beg. at a pine on the hill of Poley Bridge Branch, adj.
