    1. [NCLENOIR] Robert & Theophilus Coleman of Dobbs/Lenoir County, NC
    2. Wes Coleman (h)
    3. List, I have a Robert Coleman of Edgecombe County who relocated to Dobbs County. I believe I may have his ancestors. I am interested in his wife, his will, and his descendants. I noted a deed to Robert Coleman mentioned in a post by Martha Marble on June 11, 2000 to this list which is quoted below. I am also interested in Theophilus Coleman mentioned in another post by Martha I found in the USGenWeb archives for the state of North Carolina wherein she mentions: R. Israel (Israel R.) Florida sold land to Theophilus Coleman by deed recorded on page 488 of the Johnston/Dobbs/Lenoir Counties Grantor Index - Book 4 - 1756 - 1757. Again, I believe I have the ancestors of Theophilus Coleman and would be interested in his wife, his will, and his descendants. While Robert and Theophilus are closely related, I do not believe they are closely related to L.L. Coleman, his son Blount Coleman, or Blount's offspring. I believe Robert and Theophilus are descended from Robert Coleman of Nansemond County Virginia who first bought land in 1684. If anyone has information on these two Colemans, Theophilus & Robert, of Dobbs/Lenoir County, please contact me. Thanks. If there is a deed in Bertie it should give the land description. It could have been in Dobbs. Will check the Cross Index. Below is what I did from the Cross Index years ago and it was probably done from the Grantee Index so who knows what I missed. Don't see any indication of anything from the Henderson estate but that would be in the Craven deeds, not Dobbs. What I haven't done is cull from Hoffman's books or Craven deeds the early entries for these people. Martha ROUSE -- GRANTOR/GRANTEE FROM TO <snip> BOOK 9 William Row John Faulk Christian & ?
