Tracing the ownership of Harmony Hall >From "Harmony Hall and someof its descendants" by Holloman William Herritage to dau Eliz.-land on which Harmony was built ; will of 1769 (one of the 4 lots) 1772-Eliz marries Jesse Cobb;they build Harmony (their son John Cobb is quoted by his daughter as having been born at Harmony in 1776)) 1774/5-Jesse goes to war; Eliz goes to live with her brother John Herritage at Harrow war years to 1781-Harmony used as residence of James Glasgow and meeting place for official war business Rich Caswell purchases it from Jesse Cobb-no date Gives Harmony to his son Rich,jr. at his marriage in 1782 1784-Rich jr dies, leaves widow & dau Sarah Richard as residents of Harmony widow marries Benejah White ca 1788 and moves out Rich Caswell repurchases Harmony from Rich jr's estate and gives it to Winston at his marriage in 1788 Winston dies 1799-widow remarries in 1801-Dallam & John take over Gov Caswell's estate settlement 1796-John Caswell, youngest son, dies and his widow marries Willliam Lovick-they live in Harmony-not known how long they lived there (C Hollowman says perhaps they purchased it when the estate of Winston was settled) **my note-Hillsborough Court order of 1796 mentions "several Lenoir lots in the town of Kinston with 3 houses on them" as part of the lands of Richard Caswell.
