    3. Diana, Guy Potts is the web master for most of the county archives sites in eastern NC including Lenoir and Greene. Patty has Dobbs and Craven and the county site. Each county has a county site for queries and other items and an archives site for primary documents ie Bibles, Wills, etc. The URL for the State is http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/nc/ncfiles.htm from there you can get on any county The Dobbs/Lenoir Cross Indices - grantor and grantee index - are the only books that survived the Courthouse fires in the 1880's. It does not tell you much but does give an idea of who was in the area at different times and who was selling to whom. They are being transcribed - slowly - and are posted on the Lenoir Co archives site.
