    3. I have been distressed about this cemetery for sometime. It is located in a field behind a brick house on the road between Hookerton and Maury. The last time I was by that way the house was not being live in due to the flood. The Town of Hookerton was named for this family. They were once a prominent family in that community and contributed much to its development. One would think that the Town Of Hookerton would take some pride in its history and heritage and take steps to repair the Hooker monuments and keep up the graveyard. I think there or only two markers standing and others lying on the ground. It is obvious that over the years the plowing of that field has taken a toll on that burial site. One of my ancestors Sheriff John Hooker of Tyrrell County was a brother of Hymerick's father William Hooker. Jane Phillips God Bless America!
