Several list issues back, I saw some postings about Parrott D. Waters. There were two Parrott D. Waters, the elder was the one who md. Susan Jackson. His first wife was Nancy ____ whom I believe to have been Nancy Taylor. Parrott D. and Nancy Waters were my 3 gr. grandparents. Nancy Waters died in 1838 and he married Susan Jackson by about 1840. He and Susan had two known children-- Nancy A., b. 13 Apr 1841 who m. Blount Arthurs. The other daughter was Martha born about 1844. She died 14 Jan 1852. Parrott D. (the elder) Waters, his wife Susan, their two daughters Nancy and MArtha, his parents Asa and Elizabeth (House) Wiggins (she married Jesse Wiggins after Asa's death), a son of Parrott D. and Nancy Waters, William H. Waters are all buried at the Sullivan-Aldridge Cemetery at Institute in Lenoir Co. This William H. Waters md. Nancy Ann Arthur. He died at Petersburg, VA in 1862. He was a brother to my gr.gr. grandfather, Simon Peter Waters. The younger Parrott D. Waters, a grandson of the elder Parrot D. Waters, did live in the Wayne Co. area and I think is buried in Wayne Co. A few years back, I saw a query on the Wayne Co. site by an Asa Waters asking for info about this Parrott D. Waters. I wrote him and the email bounced back to me. Then I wrote to the Message Board and asked him if he saw it, to write to me. Still haven't heard from him. So I still don't know much of anything about this part of the family. There is another Waters that I have unaccounted for. A James R. Waters who m. Mary Elizabeth Dixon. He was born 27 Sep 1827 and died 4 Aug 1875. I have wondered if he was an older son of Parrott D. Waters, the elder. If so, there is quite a bit of time between him and the birth of Asa T. Waters, (1825 to 1832) which is possible, I guess. This Greene County cemetery that Nancy Waters is buried in has several unmarked graves in it. Hers was the only stone there. (I have a photo of the stone if anyone is interested). Kay Waters Sakaris
