Need Ray's permission to use his published line down the Catherine Rouse line before I run the Catherine Hardee Rouse line. Isaac - none of us can come up with any clue's on the Isaac line. There are two older Isaac's and a younger one on the census reports up to 1830 then after that time there are no Isaac's. THere was a Bible many years ago that has some information on the younger Isaac but its location is not known. It states that Isaac was the son of Joseph P. who was the son of Thomas and Sarah Croom Hardee. One can assume one of the older Isaac's was the son of THomas and Sarah but who the other one is anyone's guess. The same is true of William - there were two older Williams about the same age and we can't really separate them in the census with any degree of certainty. Susannah who married Jesse Hare Croom - I have not been able to determine if any of Jesse' children were by Susannah. He moved to Ala and remarried and most of his children may have been by his 2nd wife. No one working the Richard Croom line seems to know who the mother of Jesse's children was. Nothing on Olive - she was not married in 1810. THe 2nd William is of the age to be the son of John and Mary Phillips Hardy of Craven Co that we can't track. THe Thomas on the 1840 and 1850 Lenoir Census is said to be the son of this William's brother John although I don't think so. It would not make sense for that THomas to move with his parents to Ga as a baby then go back to NC before going to Ala. Not to mention that John of Henry Co, Ala is not a proven son of John and Mary Phillips Hardy but John's wife was part of this Phillips family. Sarah Croom is said to have married Joseph Hardee but there is not a shred of even circumstantial evidence to bear this out and there is circumstantial to suggest her husband's name was Thomas. I am inclined to think Thomas came out of Pitt/Beaufort Co but can't find the connection. Joseph of Pitt had a son Thomas of the right age but others claim that Thomas. THis includes list member Jewel. THe name Pinkney runs down the Lenoir Co Hardee family and the Pitt Co family that moved to Horry Co, SC. Charles Pinkney Coatsworth was a famous person in South Carolina so why was someone in NC naming a son after someone in SC? Then there is the little question of the name change of Pinkney Croom to Pinkney Hardee in 1803. Working in a burned county is so frustrating. ANyone have any additions or corrections or proofs?
