    1. Re: [NCLENOIR] Rest of Hardee family
    2. Elizabeth Whitaker
    3. I have a Hardy/ee I can't find. I've been looking for info on the Elizabeth Hardy who married John Whitaker (c. 1745-1823) in eastern North Carolina (maybe southeastern Virginia) approximately 1763. Elizabeth is in the NSDAR Patriot Index (1990) as John's first wife and I have a copy of membership papers on John giving the names of their children, but I can't find *anything* on *her* parents. (btw, this is the John who served in the N.C. legislature and is in the Patriot Index for Patriotic Service.) I corresponded with Ima some years ago about her, and I've also checked a Hardee book. (The name of the book escapes me, but it's very comprehensive.) I've also checked all the Hardy and Hardee web sites I've heard of. Several Elizabeths but none are mine. I'm descended from Elizabeth and John through their son, Hugh Hardy Whitaker (1765-1849), who was my ggrandfather Whitaker's ggrandfather. (We've got some *long* generations in my family.) Hugh married a Polly Perry and went with her family to the Pendleton District of South Carolina. Hugh was a Methodist class leader as well as a carpenter. At least one of their kids migrated to Tennessee. Elizabeth Whitaker evw2@bellsouth.net P.O. Box 2147 Easley, SC 29640
