John, I am cc this to the Greene and Lenoir Co lists because there are several Farmer researchers. What little we know about the early Farmers in old Dobbs Co is the result of research of Ima Mewborn but I don't have copies of all her notes. Have not had time to backtrack into Edgecombe Co. As far as I know, there was only one Farmer family in the area unless there was another one we do not know about. Jesse Farmer bc 1765 moved to Dobbs Co from Edgecombe Co. He was a Quaker and lived in that area of Dobbs that became Lenoir, not Greene. He was murdered. How do you know that your Elizabeth Green Farmer was born in Greene - then Dobbs - County? It is possible that Jesse had a sister who moved with him - they were about the same age. To our knowledge Jesse only had two children, but might have had more - Polly and William. There was another Farmer family in Jones Co but not sure if Ima ever connected them. Does anyone know if there was an earlier Farmer family and if so could you assist John. To my knowledge he is not on the lists. Martha At 11:57 AM 5/12/01 EDT, you wrote: >I am looking for any information of the family of Elizabeth Green Farmer, b >1770 Green Co/.
