    3. While on the subject of Maplewood Cemetery I need to ask if there is anyone out there researching the Clemmons Family. My GGG grandmother Axie Smith, second wife of Nathan Hill of Deep Run, is supposed to be buried out there. Axie's Grandson, Clint Simmons is still living, and according to him (and my Grandmother) Axie remarried to a man with surname Clemmons after Nathan Hill died. Unclke Clint says she is buried in Maplewood, but does not remeber exactly where, (Although he claims to have been to her gravesite many times before) I have called the city, and they are unable to locate a grave for an Axie Clemmons I have walked the cemetery many times, but for those who have not been there, it is quite a large cemetery and not in the best area of town, so I never spend long there. I have still not located a death record for Axie or a Marriage record for her and her second husband....... ALSO, Found Axie in census records with her father Hogan Smith and his wife Nancy, but have not been able to find anything beyond that. Can say that she had a brother named Owen Smith who married a Cunningham (Mary I think) Sound familiar to anyone??? I called the monument co near the cemetery and I was given the phone #' of 2 people I believe at the courthouse. The first was a lady by the name of Deb Bryant and a Monique. Please try 252-939-3318 or 252-939-3110. I'm sorry for not knowing whose # is whose. I have them scribbled on a piece of paper, and I just happened to keep the paper. The gentleman at the Monument company, his name was Jim and his # is 252-522-3818. I wish I could be of more assistance. Good Luck.
