    3. This is the missing clipping Roger just found and it will be sent to Guy for posting under Newspapers as soon as he returns home. Although it does not say where the train stopped, the RR tracks run right by the Caswell Cemetery where everyone other than some state officials say he was buried. Sent by Roger Kammerer who states this was a troop train going from New Bern back to the western part of the state. The tracks go right by the Caswell Cemetery in Kinston said to be the final resting place of Gov. Caswell. From The Weekly Union, New Bern, 27 May 1858 INTERESTING INCIDENT Quite an interesting incident occurred during the passing up of the Military from the Newbern Festival. When the Orange Guards and Rowan Rifle Guards in charge of Maj. Turner, came in sight of the final resting place of the renowned Gov. Caswell, at the request of the two companies, Major Turner stopped the train for a few moments, when the companies alighted with muffled drums, and after a few funeral beats of requiem, three volleys were fired over the Hero Statesman. A beautiful compliment to the departed worth, and speaks highly for the good taste and warm and appreciative patriotism of our citizen soldiers. Long life to the Orange Guards and Rowan Rifles! May their shadows never grow less. Such feelings of appreciation are obliged to work out good soldiers. Hillsboro Recorder
