    3. Don't be fooled by the name William Waightstill (Waitstill) Avery. It was a popular name of the time that was used in a number of families because he was so prominent. That name has thrown a number of families. There was an intermarriage between Cynthia Loftin and Walter Dunn fairly early. Have you checked the Loftin Bibles and the Loftin Collection on the Lenoir Co Archives?
