In looking over my last two Westbrook messages, it occurred that I need to clarify one thing arising from the repetition of the name Moses Westbrook, lest there be confusion. In the 1840 Lowndes County MS census there are THREE Moses Westbrooks: Moses Charles, Moses F., and, as Jerry Clower might have said, "just plain" Moses. (And this is for only one county and one year. Looking at the Westbrook family over generations, there are so many Moseses that dealing with them can become mind numbing.) Just plain Moses (1810-1854) was of course the son of Charles and Winifred and husband of Sidney Ann Carr Westbrook. Moses C. was married to just plain Moses's sister Julia and was probably her cousin. At this point, I don't know how Moses F. fits into the picture but being a Moses from NC strongly suggests a family connection. Jack
