    3. Ann, Thanks for your response. I have not made the GOODING connection, but perhaps you can enlighten me. Here are the DAUGHETY (so many spellings of that name!) and EVANS connections I have identified thus far: Alexander W. WEST (1826 - ?) = Elizabeth DAUGHETY (c. 1829 - ?) Alexander was the son of Levi WEST and Sarah JACKSON (second wife). In the 1880 census, it would seem that he had remarried to another Elizabeth, based on her age, but sometimes the census has mistakes in this area. Also, in the 1880 census his household includes Laura GOODING, 17, his neice. I don't know the connection. Sophia Alice WEST (1857 - ?) = Jesse Frederick EVANS (1854 - 1926) I just learned about this marriage from an Evans researcher. Sophia Alice was the daughter of Kinnian Terrence WEST and Teresa WATSON (second wife) and granddaughter of Levi WEST and Wealthy BRUTON (first wife). Lenore Elizabeth WEST (c. 1868 - ?) = Joe E. EVANS (1862 - 1921) I learned about this marriage from the same Evans researcher. Lenore (Lena, Mammy) was the daughter of Terrence Lafayette WEST and Caroline RHEM, and granddaughter of Kinnian Terrence WEST and Teresa WATSON. From the same EVANS researcher, apparently Laura Frances GOODING married William A. Evans in 1883. Perhaps this is the same Laura as I mentioned above. Do these connections fit in with your research? Can you enlighten me more on any of this? I would be happy to share more and add detail if you are interested.
