Hello all, The Historical Preservation Group is exploring the possibility of starting a Genealogical Society here in Lenoir County. If it comes to be it will be a tri-county society (Lenoir, Greene, Jones) and will probably only start out with quarterly meetings. The idea would also be to put out a quarterly newsletter. The society would be open to both local and out of town (out of state) members. Before we go through the work of starting a society though, we need to make sure there is local support for it. So we are taking a survey to try and determine the interest level. If anyone out there would be interested in joining such a society I would appreciate it if you would let me know.
