I did not see a George Thomas Leary but here is a Barney Leary out of North Carolina from HDS: Mike Barney Leary Residence not listed; Enlisted on 4/11/1863 at Lenoir County as a Private. On 4/11/1863 he mustered as a substitute into "A" Co. NC 8th Battn He was transferred out on 10/2/1863 (Sub for Durant Rhodes.) On 10/2/1863 he transferred into "F" Co. NC 66th Infantry (date and method of discharge not given) North Carolina Troops 1861-65, A Roster
