    3. This is really Duplin Co. and I could not find where I had Christine Grimes Thacker's e-mail address, so please pick up... Arch Branch, Jr. and Ester Grimes had Archilaus Bright Branch about 1816....where does the Bright come in here? Know it fits with the Grimes family somewhere? This Branch family is not related to my husband's Branch family so far as I know but they are intermarried with the Herring family several times and have recently aquired a good bit of information on them. 1. [NCLENOIR] Hangings in Kinston
    2. Tracy Putnam
    3. Hello all, as most of us are aware, during the civil war 22 men were hung in Kinston NC. They were considered to be deserters of the CSA, having been captured in New Bern after joining Union Forces. The Historical Preservation Group, is proud to be able to sponser a book signing and discussion, with Gerard A. Patterson, the author of "Justice or Atrocity, General George E. Pickett and the Kinston, N.C. Hangings. Mr. Patterson is now working on a follow up article to the book and is interested in hearing from descendants of the condemned men. I have put something up on the Historical Preservation Groups website about this event, as well as a list of the 22 men who were hung. it can be found at the following url http://www.historicalpreservationgroup.org/projects/hangings.htm I am a little premature in making this announcement, as I have not even linked this page anywhere yet.......:>D But wanted to give ya'll a chance to contact Mr. Patterson if you are a descendant. Come check out the list and see....... Tracy _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com

I have also been told that their is a "family" cemetery in Strabane, where Sarah Whaley is buried. I am anxious to find out any of the details on these two items. All I know, at this point, is that Starkey King died between 1880 & 1900. (sure could use that 1890 census!!!) Thank you to anyone who is able to help! AJ Ambler

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QUB.2ACE/883.1 Message Board Post: Ima Mewborn said that Shadrack Fields of Dobbs/Lenoir Co had a son Jesse bc 1805 - 1810 but no documentation. Think this is family tradition. She had no additional information on him other than he moved to Georgia. In addition family tradition states that the father, Shadrack, and sons Jesse, Bartholomew, and Thomas all went to Ga and Shadrack and Bartholomew returned to Lenoir Co. Maybe you are the "missing" Jesse. Shadrack married Mary (Polly) Farmer daughter of Jesse Farmer so the name fits. There are a number of Fields descendants on the Lenoir Co RootsWeb list. I descend from Shadrack's son William who was the sheriff of Lenoir Co for many years. Martha
