Thanks Ann and Judy for going through this collection and Martha for abstracting. I was happy to see the Olds information. It helps to connect some of the Olds names that show up in early years of the county. I am not sure how they fit in with the families I research. Is anyone researching the Olds family? Ok - guess we are indeed back up and running after at least a week. Rootsweb has been installing a new server and it could be a week before all the old messages during that time come in if they do. If you have posted anything in the past week and don't see it come through in the coming week - repost. The deeds for the Dixon/Holliday Collection have been posted on Greene Archives http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/nc/greene.htm Collections. Our thanks to Judy and Ann for providing this information. Will try to work on the rest of it this week since going to the DAR does not seem to be a really good idea - one block from the IMF. Martha
Just checking to see if we are really back up and running. Martha

Go to www.familysearch.org to get information on Jesse Harper, Sr. and Jesse Harper, Jr. It tells who the children were. On a Mormon film, there is a Clarence Tyndall who is a submitter and relative. I am writing those submitters now. Callie Harper b. 1700 of Edgecombe County was submitted by this Clarence Tyndall, a relative. I had an aunt who use to visit Harpers in your area because she was related to them. My grandfather (Frank Harper) had a brother named Jesse Lawrence Harper. My great grandfather was Stephen H. Harper, but we do not know who his father was. I am really concentrating on the Jesse Harpers because I feel it is very likely a connection. Were they English or Scotch-Irish Harpers?

I would like for each of you to know the policy that Genealogy.com has so you don't get caught like I got caught. Not realizing when my subscription was renewing they renewed it on June 8 and my CC closing date was July 5 and I have just received my Statement. Therefore I called them to cancel the Subscription and was advised I can cancel for next year only because it is over 30 days from June 8th. No exceptions!! I am not very happy about this, but seems there is nothing I can do about it. They billed me for $183.60 and another charge of $19.34 which they say is for Family Tree Maker 11 whether you want it or not. They now have a deal that you can get it for $179.95 for one year. I have heard others discuss their dissatisfaction with Genealogy and now I join the groups. Don't let them get you! Linda Melvin
