    3. Hello: To whom it may concern: I got an email from ncfsjones@eastlink.net which is the NC Forest Service from Wayne Bell at the location. I don't know how they got the message that I sent in reference to Kay Becton Ogle on Subject:Becton-Stanley dated Mon, 24 Jan 2000 18:20:36. It read: Hello Kay: Maybe I can help you. I have a John Blackman Becton born 4-24-1777 to 2-4-1838 in Woodington Twsp., Lenoir County, NC., to a Elvyreenie [Elvy] Whaley, daughter of Ezekiel Whaley and Nancy Jarman. This John may have been married twice. If your dates are close to mine, give a reply. It seems as ahe is the same person. Thanks Keith Whaley

    1. Coastalnet blocking all mail to ROOTS lists
    2. Martha Marble
    3. For your information Coastalnet, the largest local server in Eastern NC is blocking all messages from ROOTS L Lists to their customers. Their reason - too much spam on the lists - Lenoir and Greene have so far, never had any spam come through. For you other list owners - you might want to complain to Coastnet and to ROOTS L For the members - none of these people are getting posts so if there is someone you have been working with on Coastalnet either wait it out or contact them personally. 1. Michael Becton Descendants
    2. Tracy Putnam
    3. Hello everyone, for those of us researching our ties to Michael Becton I have some information. I was surfing around the various DAR Chapter websites the other day, and Found a chapter in New Bern. I surfed on over to their site and found that one of their chapter members is a descendant of Michael Becton. He is her Revolutionary Patriot ancestor. As Michael has already been accepted by the DAR those of us who descend from him directly should also be eligible for membership, for the guys there is the SAR and even the kids of the American Revolution for the little ones. I myself am very interested in joining...I believe I may be eligible based on some of my Loftin ancestors and Maybe even Benjamin Simmons too. If any of you are also interested, perhaps we could work together on gathering the necessary documentation (we have to be able to prove each statement of Birth, death and marriage) I would love to hear feedback on this......
