Annie, I had not received the recent message about the "JC Heritage Day", so thanks for sending it on this list. Your comments and apology are accepted and delightful. NO PROBLEM! I will respond to your questions in several following notes. I assume you are still talking about next July 4. Please remember that the Heritage Center is closed on Sunday and Monday's. I'm sure they are closed on July 4, meaning they will be open Tuesday, closed Wednesday then open the remainder of the week. I will double check their schedule. I will check on the Skinner House. I do not know anything about it. I had assumed that you might select a certain motel and use their facilities as a meeting place. One other idea would be the meeting room in the public library across from the Heritage Center. I don't think food would be allowed there though. I'll check this out. The Smithfield Herald does a special "Heritage" section in the paper every July 4. They might be interested in doing a feature on y'all out-of-towners? Also, all of the old newspapers that are available are probably at the Heritage Center, on microfilm. I don't think you can or will have to go to the newspapers to do any research. I will discuss all of these matter with Todd Johnson, director of the Heritage Center. More answers later. Also, apologies to this list manager and list members not interested in the Heritage Day. I hope it's OK to communicate this matter on the list. Warren
