    3. Gail, I have no documentation that Bethanah Lee Ingram married a William Ingram who was born about 1790. Lee researchers and some Ingram/Lee descendents claim that this is so. We can prove that Bethanah Lee did marry an Ingram and that she died prior to 1835 when her father signed his Will. What I do not know is if this Ingram's given name was William. Also I do not know the parents of this William Ingram--if he in fact did marry Bethanah Lee. The estimated dates do not fit for the William Ingram who was the son of Baranaba Ingram and Edith Altman. Baranaba and Edith did not marry until 1797. Further, some claim that after Bethanah Lee Ingram died, this William Ingram married Nancy Lee Johnson, the widow of Littleton Johnson, and they removed to AL. A marriage between Nancy Lee Johnson and a William Ingram in 1823 is proven by a Marriage Bond and by Jeremiah Lee's 1823 Will. Jeremiah was the father of Nancy Johnson Lee Ingram. She was Nancy Ingram in Jeremiah's Will Can you send me some documentation on your 2 William Ingram's? I am sending you a second E-mail that responds more fully to your query, but this short answer is the heart of the matter, I think.
