Margaret, I don't know if you have access to the Johnston Co. Library - Genea. Room, but there is a reference book available on the Creech families of Johnston Co. by James M. Creech. You will find your connection on page 70 of the book: "11. William James Creech b. 1834, served in the Civil War, entered Nov. 16, 1861. He married Nov. 17, 1853 Polly Massengill.
