NC Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Johnston/12346 Surname: MORGAN, ALLEN, STANCIL ------------------------- I would like to contact anyone who knows more about the Esther ALLEN and Jesse MORGAN who were married in Johnston County NC in 1795 or about their descendants. My gggrandmother was Salley MORGAN b. 1806, m. William STANCIL, Johnston County, N.C. Her parents are one of my dead-ends. Salley and William had a son named Young Allen STANCIL and I have puzzled over his name, which doesn't appear elsewhere in my Stancil line. There is a Jesse MORGAN who m. an Esther ALLEN in 1795 (IGI record). Also the mid-1800 Johnston County NC censuses show a Young MORGAN and an Allen MORGAN who are about the right ages to be the sons of Jesse and Esther that were shown in earlier censuses. And the early censuses show at least two daughters of Jesse and Esther that were of an age to be my Salley MORGAN STANCIL. I will greatly appreciate any information that might support or refute my hypothesis on the parentage of Salley MORGAN STANCIL or on the relationship of Young and Allen MORGAN to Esther ALLEN and Jesse MORGAN.
Don't know if there is any connection here. My ggg grandfather's sister, Priscella PEACOCK, m Godfrey Stansill abt 1802 in Johnston Co., NC. According to Peacock Family Ass'n of the South, children were William, Godfrey Jr., Evaline and Larkin. William married Millie and they had 9 children. First born was an Allen, born 1833. I suppose that naming a firstborn child Allen could mean your Ester ALLEN was an ancester of this family. - Ray ----- Original Message ----- From: "Betty STANCIL Segal" <bssegal@mindspring.com> To: <NCJOHNST-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 04, 2001 12:01 PM Subject: [NCJOHNST] Jesse MORGAN m.
