Born December 5, 1907 in Courtland, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Luther Ulysses and Carrie Br yant Kitchen. She and her first husband, Lawrence Paul Jones were married for 27 years. He died in 1962. Emily married Conrad Herring Parker in 1973 and lived in Princeton, North Carolina until his death in 1993. Thereafter she made her home in Dover, Del. Throughout her life she served her churches, communities and families with love and devotion. No task was ever too great for her to attempt. She remained a lifetime member of the Order of Easter Star Emporia Chapter #46 and Selma Chapter #209 where she served in numerous stations. Her funeral will be held 12 noon on Saturday, April 8, 2000 at Owen Funeral Home in Jarratt, Virginia. The Reverend Robert E. Johns will officiate. Burial will follow in Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery in Purdy, Virginia.
