And everybody picks through their change,to give correct change.In Texas,we give the cashier a bill that is larger than the purchase price,and let them make change.After all,it is their job,and they are quicker at it than we are. All across the Deep South,if you order tea,it WILL be loaded down with sugar.Nobody asks if you want sweetened or unsweetened,as they do here. When you get grits for breakfast in Texas,it is in a small bowl.In the rest of the South,the bowl is huge. I was told more than once that meat comes off a pig.Period.We eat a lot of pork,too,but beef is also a staple. The South is beautiful.Thank God we are fortunate to live here.
