Is there a specific reason you asked about your dad in the mail group for Johnston County, NC? <like...did he die there?> I take it that you have little info on your dad. Can your mom help? Try seeing if you can find things out from the county the FAIRCLOTHs were in. If you can find his dob or dod, you should get his birth/death certificate which will tell you his parents names. I believe the death certificate also lists the birthday. Another thing you can try is going through the censuses for the years he probably lived in that county. See if there's a Historical organization for the county he was in...or Tennessee. You also might try the Family History Center (FHC) nearest you. They have oodles of info available and many of the people who are there have done this for years and are VERY willing to be of help.
