I have a Willie Bailey who listed no husband in the birth of her four children. Wiley b 1852, Clem b 1854, Tobias b 1859 and Jeffery b 1862 all in Johnston County. Wiley Bailey married Polina or Lina Jones January 12, 1877. They had James Wiley b December 14, 1884, Eva Mattie b December 14, 1884, Mable Lee b November 26, 1888. They also had a son who died young, Junius b October 1879. Eva Mattie married Walter Phillip Braswell November 12, 1912. Eva who was my grandmother and I am named after was married before to Alanzo Jones and had three children when he died when she was pregnant with the fourth child. This was in Johnston Co. also.
