    3. Hi, There may well have been a JONES migration from Johnston County to Obion County, Tennessee. There was a migration of JONES from Duplin County, North Carolina to Gibson and Obion Counties, Tennessee. It seems that Elias S. JONES of Johnston County, had a number of siblings that migrated from Duplin County to Obion and Gibson Counties, Tennessee in the 1830s and 1840s. The father was John Jones, born about 1780 in North Carolina. Two of John Sr.'s sons, Stephen Jones born about 1816 and Francis Jones born about 1810, moved to the Obion-Gibson County area of Tennessee. Another son John Jones, Jr., born about 1805, moved to Macon County, Alabama. There was another son Robbert who moved out of state also. Elias Jones was another son of John Jones, Sr. Elias lived in the Bentonville area of Johnston County from 1845 to about 1859. By 1860 Elias was in Marion District, South Carolina. There was a daughter Catherine Jones, born about 1818, who married John Hall of Duplin County, and also moved to the Obion-Gibson County area of Tennessee. It is entirely possibly that your LEMUEL JONES was a sister of John Jones, Sr. or some other relation.
