Hi Bert, There were SEVERAL Jesse Lees around here! It seems the ones I have found have all been connected . There were Jesse Lees in Bladen, Johnston, Sampson & Cumberland Counties, NC. This is why it took me so long to connect to the right Jesse! These counties are all neighboring counties, and I live in Cumberland. I have seen branches of our line reported to have moved to GA, ALA, MS and beyond. A large group of settlers from these areas migrated together out of NC in the early 1800's to GA. I will pull my Lee files this evening and see what I have on the Bladen County Jesse. There is a will abstract, of Jesse Lee, book P, page 290, 5-9-1845, in Effingham Co., that lists children as I have them: Jesse Lee, Elizabeth Hurst and her children, Chrles Lee, John Lee, Rhoda Fortune, wife of John Fortune, Sarah Barnwell wife of Edward Barnwell and Mary Hurst wife of Jesse Hurst, Elizabeth Hurst, the lawful wife of Thomas Hurst.
