We've moved and I'll need to dig it out. One of my lines descends from Rufus Smith (b. ca. 1831 d. 27 Sept 1862 in Richmond, VA during Civil War) of Wake County(near edge of Johnston) who died in the Civil War. He had a son John born ca.1852. I do not know of his descendents as I descend from his brother Lorenzo. Rufus' land in Wake County was lost because he mortgaged it before he left for Civil War and the wife Margaret(b. ca. 1827) moved after he died.
