My name is Linda (Johnson ) Griffin and I used to belong to Heritage Quest but not now. Never could get it to work for me. The reason I am writing is that I get these Today's Topics and would like to get the information of so many of your topic's as my Johnson's came from NC in the late 1700's or early 1800's to finally settle in McMinn Co., TN and to later when Bradley Co. opened up with Land Grants that my ggggfather bought 80 acres there. Now he had a brother named Joel b. ca. 1812-14 in NC and Daniel ca. 1815-18 in NC so they were very young but with help we cannot find any census's with their parents names on them. There were lots of Johnson during that time of migration. My uncle who lives in McMinn Co., TN and is 78 now had a DNA test done three years ago so we are in the JJJ Project with five other Johnson and one Johnston whose relative came from Fife, Scotland and they do not know when. He was born ca. 1795. So my uncle cannot use a computer and I can and I update the site and the other one with different names. If you could send me any information of where I should look it would greatly be appreciated. Then, click on the tab third tab that says, Find By Page Number. Once there, it will ask you for the Series (the year), Roll and Page. In the bar click on brouse rather than search. You may then go to the 1850 Census. They also now have a partial 1930 Census. Some is indexed and some is not.Clois RichardsonFort Worth, Texascloisr99@msn.com> From: swindell@usit.net> To: ncjohnst@rootsweb.com> Date: Tue, 22 Apr 2008 08:13:09 -0400> Subject: Re: [NCJOHNST] 1850 Johnston Co., NC Census Index> > Freda,> > When you get to Heritage Quest, go to Search Census.> Then, click on the tab third tab that says, Find By Page Number.> Once there, it will ask you for the Series (the year), Roll and Page.> > Linda> > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Freda Noble" <tnoble@mcn.org>> To: <ncjohnst@rootsweb.com>> Sent: Sunday, April 20, 2008 3:22 PM> Subject: Re: [NCJOHNST] 1850 Johnston Co., NC Census Index> > > > This note from Helen is of interest to me.
