Elizabeth Ross and perhaps others published a book with all of the Johnston Co NC Militia Records abstracted and indexed. If it is not online, it is available for purchase. I am not at home so I cannot give exact information. Captain Thomas Lee was definitely in the Militia and maybe the Continental Line, I forget. He later led a party to survey land in what is now TN that was given to veterans of the Continental Line. I have a fair amount on him but it is not easily accessible. He married a daughter of Richard Ingram, who was himself a Patriot. She had first married a Rains. She and Capt Thomas Lee had a bunch of children and packed them up and moved to TN. Capt Thomas Lee's brother, John Lee, apparently also moved with them to TN. John and his wife also had a bunch of children. Thanks in advance, SharonBoyerBates@aol.com
Hello, Franklin! Do you happen to know if it is true that Captain Lee married three woman named Mary? I've seen Mary Bryant, Mary Ingram, and Mary Griffin. Also, have you ever met David Rains? He has written a book about Mary Ingram Rains, her son Henry Rains of Kentucky, and her husband, Captain Lee. http://books.google.com/books?id=QVIiCyEQslQC&printsec=frontcover&dq=inauthor:rains,david+s.&source=gbs_summary_r&cad=0 I am descended from his son Thomas Lee, Jr., and was wondering who his mother was. My mother's middle name is Lee, as a tribute. Thank you.
