In 1837 ALSEY PACE married CASSANDRA DEAN in Johnston Co., NC,( his second marriage). This appears to be the family from the 1860 Johnston Co. census. However, I do not believe the age of Alsey is correct here--he was born around 1785 and in 1860 would have been closer to 75 years old. The age of his wife may be incorrect also. Alsey Pace was the son of Stephen Pace and an Indian girl; therefore this whole family were shown in the census as mulatto. I was reading this census from the handwritten version and I may not have everything spelled correctly or the children's ages correct. Does anyone have information on this Pace family or on the family of Cassandra Dean, the wife? PACE, ALSEY - 60 - farmer $3000real est., plus $1000 pers. prop.
