NC Deeds Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/NC/JohnstonDeed/10018 Surname: Ferrell, Henldey, Barns, Pope, Watson, Lee, Renfrow ------------------------- Johnston Co, NC Deed book H2 pg 293 This Indenture made this fourteenth day of December in the year one thousand Eight hundred and forty Between Joseph Ferrel of the County of Johnston and State of North Carolina of the one part and Jacob Renfrow of the County of Wayne and State aforesaid of the other part witnessed that I the said Joseph Ferrell for and in consideration of the sum three hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by the said Jacob Renfrow before the signing and delivery of these presents and therewith do acknowledge myself fully satisfied contented and paid hath given, bargained sold and conveyed unto the said Jacob Renfrow a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County of Johnston on the water courses of Black Creek Beginning at a black gum in Lees Swamp and runs thence South to a Black Gum in a Slash, thence East to a pine in John Ferrels line, thence North along John Ferrels to the county line, thence along the county line to the Spring branch, thence up the various courses of the Branch to Stephan Watsons corner, thence South along Stephen Watson line to a stake, thence East along Amos Watsons line to a Sassafras, thence South to Lees Swamp, thence down the Swamp to the beginning containing Two hundred and Eighty-six acres to him the said Jacob Renfrow to have and to hold the above mentioned land and premises and I the said Joseph Ferrel do for myself my heirs executers administrators and assignees warrant and forever defend the above mentioned land and premises free and clear against the lawful claim or claims of any person or persons whatever unto him the said Jacob Renfrow his heirs executors administrators and assignees forever In witness whereof I Joseph Fearrel do hereinto sit my hand and seal the dau and date above written.
