    3. Could anyone please tell me directions to the site of the Old Primitive Baptist Church in or near Princeton, specifically the cemetery associated with the church. I will be visiting the area soon and can find my way to Princeton, but can anyone tell me where to go from there? Also if anyone has an index for that cemetery, I am looking for the grave of John Phillips, Sr. dod: 26 Sept 1839. Thank you.

    3. Hi, I just sent you a list of 162 churches and 84 cemeteries in Johnston County, NC from the USGS National Mapping Information web site. The only churches on the Princeton map were: Bakers Chapel, Bizzell Grove Church, Cedar Grove Church, Grace Church, Hephzibah Church, Old Union Church, Shiloh Church and Stevens Chapel. The only 3 cemeterties on the Princeton map were: Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens, Overby Cemetery and Thompson Cemetery. Bill Allen <misterbill@pdq.net> "Kathleen L. 3. Kathleen, The only church I have found is Crossroads Primitive Baptist Church. It was formed in 1769 and is about a mile from Princeton. If you take US 70 from I-95(Selma), turn left at the first traffic light after Hardee's. This is Edwards Road. The church is about a mile on the left. I happened by the other day and there is no sign of a cemetery. I looked hard and if there is one, it is grown up without any path to it from the church. It's hard to believe that they don't have a cemetery. It's a very old building. The genealogical society cemetery list of over 1000 cemeteries is on the Johnston web site, and there is no Crossroads listed. Also, please note, I looked at all the cemetery volumes and I did not find any John Phillips, Sr. Also, it is very rare to find a grave of someone who died in 1839. Not impossible, but very very rare. There has got to be a better answer, but this is the best so far, Warren "Kathleen L.
