I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the James Lee that married Ellinda Ingram in 1821 in Johnston Co, NC. I am researching a Lee family that lived in Richmond, VA from 1850 (?). On the census it says mother and children were born in NC. The mother is Elminter Lee, and children are James, born 1827, Lucinda VA who married Marcellus Hicks in 1849, Sarah, Eliza, the last child born 1834. Mr. Lee is not with the family and I assume he is dead. Must have died after 1834? The family might have come to VA to be near Lucinda after she got married. The only name similar to Elminter in the marriage records of NC is Ellinda. Her name was misspelled in every census I looked at. Does anyone know anything about this family?
