NC, beginning with the 1850 census,dying in 1864 (non-war causes). In the 1850 census he is shown as age 29, living in the Shaver hotel (suggesting he is a non-resident or new to town), and his occupation is silversmith. He is not to be found in 1860 Rowan and his wife and child are living with her mother--suggesting again that he is living somewhere else. Silversmiths came and went in Rowan in this period and maybe he went somewhere to get a job, but I don't know where. He was there in Salisbury in 1857 for his marriage to Carolina Earnhardt. I have Heritage Quest and I can't find him in NC in 1860. I have no clue as to his famiy, except that his only child was named Clara Bell Wilson. Could he be connected to the Wilsons of Wilson Mills, Johnston Co., NC, previously from Warren Co. NC Betty Pace - [email protected]
