Article 10 of the General Statutes of NC regarding access to private or abandoned graves was amended in 1991. You can find that legislation at http://ftp.legislature.state.nc.us/Sessions/1991/Bills/Senate/pdf/S177v2.pdf It is important to get permission to cross the private property between you and the cemetery before trying to go to the graves. It is probably best to do that in advance of going to the property. In my case in another county, the owner of the property had to first put his bull in another pasture before we could enter. I hope this helps. Lura Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
