His mother was Elizabeth Ballance and she was a Mitchell (maiden name). My grandfather was Larkin Ballance. I think that he had his mother's maiden name as she was an unwed mother. (Or that is what I always heard) Any information that you have on my family would be appreciated. Many of them are no longer living and my father is deceased also.
