The first is Larkin Ballance (born about 1846) who married Seane E. Ballance (born in 1852) on 17 March 1872. This Larkin and Seane were cousins, in fact Seane was the daughter of Larkin's first cousin Aaron Ballance. The second Larkin is Larkin Blackman Ballance born 11 Mar 1888 and is the nephew of the first Larkin Ballance. Larkin B. Ballance married Rettie Mae Bissette (her first name may have been Bettie) and they had three children, the first was stillborn in 1949. The other two were daughters, Neva Mae Ballance born in 1950 and Naomi Ballance born in 1954. They lived in Wilson County, North Carolina.
