Thanks Gail, for your posting, but it seems we have differing opinions. Is that all your own personal research? Ok,---now you have Nathaniel Thornton as born 1752?? Then who is the Nathaniel Thornton who was a witness to a deed to Thomas Thornton Jr. in 1755---Who was the Nathaniel who bought land from Samuel Eldridge in 1760? And---by the way---if the Thomas Thornton Jr. was born in 1755---who is the Thomas Thornton Jr. who bought land in 1755? There just seems to be a good supply of Thomas and Nathaniel Thornton's in that area! The arithmetic has to work out halfway sensibly---or am I really that blind?? Please help me out here. You also have Eldridge Thornton's 2 wives transposed. He married 1. to Sally Westbrook, had a child Ursala that died young and so did Sally. Then Eldridge married 2nd to Mrs. Elizabeth Ryals Westbrook, of which my William Thornton was their eldest child.
