    3. Gail, hope you don't mind my jumping in like this. My sources for Needham Anderson as the brother of Nathaniel are Faye Barbee and Marsena Smith, but I have seen the info from other researchers, too. Until I learn otherwise, I have assumed Neednam and Polly are the parents of my Elizabeth Betsy Thornton Sills. My notes on Needham Anderson: >Some resources have Needham married to Sarah Mill on 10 Nov. 1786, >at age 20. Then married to Polly Haynes in 1800 .Source: State >Records of North Carolina > >Sampson County, North Carolina Wills and Deeds, Series 4939 pt. 3-5 >(1809-1812) Book #15 >Page 226 -- Needham Thornton deeded to Susannah Creel >"I, Needham Thornton of Sampson County, North Carolina for 410 Lbs. >paid by Susannah Creel for a certain tract containing 100 acres . . >. granted to Needham Thornton by patent bearing date December 7th, >1794 . . . containing house, orchards, gardens, fence timber and >trees, with woods, water and timber pertaining to Susannah Creel >and her heirs forever...in witness of William King and George >Wiggins this 6th of September 1810.
