    3. I'm researching a John RHOADS (or Rhoades, Rhodes, etc) who was born in North Carolina about 1798. There were several men by that name in the state in the early 1800's and I'm trying to identify which is mine and who he married. My John Rhoads was married in North Carolina and had one child there before moving his family to Shelby County, Indiana. He's in the 1830 census in Indiana. By the time the 1850 census came and all family members were listed, John Rhoads' wife had passed away. She apparently died in the late 1840's based on the ages of the children. To find the wife's name, I examined a list of North Carolina marriages at Ancestry and came up with two marriages in Johnston County that involved a John Rhoads in the right timeframe. John Rhoads married Sarah Moore on 3 January 1813 (this may be a stretch if John was 15) and John Rhodes married Charlotte Brunt on 14 September 1814, both in Johnston County. I'd like to know if anyone is researching either of these couples and can tell me if either couple left North Carolina for Indiana. Any help is gratefully accepted. Dick Felts
