It also indicates that she was the mother of 14 children (9 to maturity - 3 females and 6 males), had 72 grandchildren, and was living with her son James Parrish. Her funeral was held the fifth Sunday of January, 1888 at Fellowship Church. Her obituary also appears in the September 24, 1887 edition of the "Smithfield Herald." It gives the same death date, but her birth date is given as March 17, 1797. It states that Mr. J. H. Parrish [Johnson Haywood Parrish] is her youngest child, and that she had 72 grandchildren and 80 great-grandchildren. A grave marker was placed at the Parrish cemetery on Dixon Road for Patty Parrish by a granddaughter Millie P. Clifton. The marker has that Patty was born in 1788 and died in 1879, both dates being incorrect.
