I am looking for information on my ancestors thru Austins of NC from Johnston County - 1) John Austin, born before 1755, d 1806, married Mary? 7 children 2) John Austin one son of John & Mary was b 3/30/1774, d 6/20/1846(Al) married Sarah Youngblood 4/6/1803, 6 children 3) Green Austin one son of John & Sarah was b abt 1807, d abt 1847 (Fl), married Rebecca Ward, 2 sons William Joseph Austin b 9/20/1848 (my gr grandfather) & his brother John b abt 1845 (died as a POW in Civil War, captured in the Battle of Marianna, I'm trying to find additional information on Green Austin (b abt 1807) & Rebecca Ward, John Austin (b before 1755) & Mary (last name unknown) & other Austins before his birth - I realize I'm asking a lot but any information would be appreciated - my limited research comes from my 1st cousin (Loren D Austin) that is mentioned in several contributing notes, familysearch.org, ancestry.com, www.austins.org & afaoa.org - I have participated in the Austin DNA Project - Thanks very much - Wayne Austin (bethwayne@bellsouth.net)

    3. I belong to the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century. My Chapter is named Col. John Alston. The organizing President was allowed to name the chapter after her ancestor. That was a good while ago. Now the line has been closed because there are too many John Alstons to be clear about which one was which. He would need to be the John Alston who had service (there are a lot of ways to have service) before 1701. Is there anyone out there working on the Alstons? There are some from Johnston County who are likely cousins or cousins to some of my cousins. Betty
