But even though his name is listed as WIGGINS, I assume his is really WIGGS (since he's my great grandmother's - Sarah WIGGS - sibling. But since we could have the name wrong, I thought I'd write. He would be, though, 42. I will give you what I know about William H. anyway. (Maybe your Willie is this guy's son then.) the 1870 Wilson County census: this family was Family #055 in Springhill Township Ballan WIGGINS, age 34, M, W, Farmer, Real Estate Value 150, can't write & is eligible to vote Cherry WIGGINS, age 27, F, W, Keeping house Wm. H. WIGGINS, age 4, M, W Sarah WIGGINS, age 2, F, W Mary F. WIGGINS, age 2 months (born in March) So, here it is. Could we be related?! <-' *kusje* Von

    1. [NCJOHNST] McLamb - Johnston Co., NC - 1908-1920
    2. Please respond to this e-mail if you have any ideas or suggestions that might help me solve this puzzle. My Aunt Pansy Elizabeth Webb was born in 1902. Her Mother died in January 1908 in Asheville, NC. Shortly thereafter, Pansy was placed in an orphanage with her two brothers: James and Carl Webb. I don't know the name or place of the orphanage, but it was most likely in or near Asheville, NC. Because of family Masonic ties, the Oxford orphanage in Granville Co., NC may have been where Pansy was sent in 1908. I have contact Oxford, but their records are incomplete for the time period that I am looking researching. Pansy was taken from the orphanage and placed in a foster home. Her son told me that to the best of his memory, he believes that his Mother was placed in the foster care of a McLamb family that lived in Benson, NC. He also told me that this particular McLamb family was wealthy and had a daughter about the same age as Pansy, which would suggest that the McLamb girl was born about 1902. It is my understanding that this McLamb family wanted a playmate for their daughter, which suggests that the McLamb girl may have been an only child. When Pansy arrived, how long she stayed or when she left the McLamb family is unknown to me. I have never seen any records indicating that Pansy was adopted by the McLambs, and I don't believe that she was adopted. It is possible that Pansy stayed with the McLamb family until she married William Wallace Pittman in 1920 in Wilson Co., NC. Thank you for any information which you might share with me. 3. I enjoy reading other people's email because it is interesting and you never know when you will locate a name that you did not know about. However, perhaps it would be helpful if people would put the names and dates involved on the first line of the message and then people who aren't interested could delete the message and save themselves research time. Johnston Co has a very active web site and I am grateful to the people who spend their time keeping it going.
