    3. Gail, Are you sure that you understood what I sent to you? I did not question that Joseph Ingram was the son of William Ingram and his second wife, Elizabeth. In fact, William Ingram, 1771, and Elizabeth did have a son named Joseph Ingram. I only stated that William Ingram had a first wife who was a daughter of John Lee, Sr. Esq and that they had Shadrack Ingram and perhaps a daughter named Elizabeth. 3. Dear Folks, I have to jump into the discussion on the Ingram and Lee families. I have: John Lee, Esquire, who lived in Johnston County, N.C.,early 1700's; son Edward marry Mary Allen., Edward's son Col. John Lee married Morning Altman; John and Morning's grandson Howard Young Lee married Joanna Ingram on 11 July 1858, Johnston County, N.C. Bythenia Lee, married William Ingram. Their son Isaac born in 1817m, was my great-grandmother Polly Sills's second husband. See Ingram data below. Does anyone see any connection with the Ingram/Lee families mentioned earlier on this list? Any info is greatly appreciated. 3. Gail, I have information on Joseph Ingram the son of William and Elizabeth Ingram, but he is not my line and I have it filed away. This is what I remember for sure: Joseph was not William Ingram's eldest son. William was married a first time to a Lee. Shadrack Ingram, William Ingram's son, is named in John Lee, Sr., Esq.'s Will as a grandson. In the original of William Ingram's Will, but not in the abstract, Shadrack's sister, Elizabeth, is also named. I believe that she is an issue from William's first marriage to a Lee and is therefore a half-sister to your Joseph. John Lee, Sr's Will is not in good shape and it is possible that Elizabeth Ingram was also named in John Lee Sr's Will in the part that is difficult to make out. I have information on your Joseph Ingram, but it is largely undocumented and unproven. It is not my line so I have just stored this information in my files somewhere. I copied most of it from the Vertical Files in the Johnston Co NC History Room. There has been considerable interest in your Joseph Ingram. Perhaps you could write more about what you know already and post it again to the NCJohnst-List. Your message was hard for me to follow, and I made certain assumptions before answering you. Perhaps, as a result, I have misunderstood what you said. Franklin

    3. Seeking information on any descendents of Richard Ingram, testator of 1780, Johnston Co NC, or of Thomas Avera, Sr., testator of 1761, Johnston co NC. I am particularly interested in descendents of Richard Ingram's son and Thomas Avera, Sr's son-in-law, John Ingram. John Ingram died not long after his father's death. There are 1781 Estate Papers in Johnston Co NC for John Ingram. Mary [nee Avera], his wife, and Alexander Avera were named Administrators. I assume that this Alexander Avera was Mary Avera Ingram's brother. I believe that three of Thomas Avera's children married three of Richard Ingram's children and I am interested in tracking any of their proven descendents. These three marriages are as follows: (1) Samuel Avera married Zilpha Ingram: I have proven this marriage (1779 Marriage Bond) and tracked them to Putnam Co GA. I have also proven that Samuel's father was Thomas Avera, Sr., 1761, and not William Avera, testator of 1795, Johnston Co NC--as many claim. The William Avera who died in 1795 may have been kin to Thomas Avera, Sr., 1761, but the 1795-William was definitely not Thomas's son, nor was the 1795-William the father of the Samuel Avera who married Zilpha Ingram and went to GA. (2) William Avera married Elizabeth Ingram. There is strong circumstantial evidence for this marriage. I have tracked one of the William Averas of Johnston Co NC to Cumberland Co NC and proven that his father was Thomas Avera, Sr, 1761. It is possible that this William Avera, the son of Thomas Avera, Sr, 1761, died in AL about 1825, but I have not yet proven it. William Avera, the son of Thomas Avera, Sr., 1761, was a youngster (minor orphan) when his father died and would have been in the neighborhood of 75 years old in 1825. Several of his children and grandchildren were already living in AL before William might have removed from Cumberland Co NC for AL. [Note: The move to AL by this William, the son of Thomas Avera, Sr., 1761, is not yet proven.] (3) Mary Avera married John Ingram. There is strong circumstantial evidence for this marriage. Bussey researchers accept this marriage, and I can find no conflicting claims. Two sons of Mary Avera Ingram and John Ingram died in Putnam Co GA as neighbors of Samuel and Zilpha Ingram Avera. Before moving to Putnam Co GA. They married Bussey sisters in Lincoln Co GA. Also Isaac Avera and Arthur Avera, the two youngest sons of Thomas Avera, Sr, 1761, per guardianship records, went to GA before 1780 with their guardian, Benjamin Scott. Arthur died in Putnam Co GA as a neighbor of Samuel and Zilpha Avera Ingram and of John and Thomas Ingram, the sons of John and Mary Avera Ingram. I have considerable information on these Avera and Ingram families to share. I have it all well documented, but I am still missing important pieces of information and wish to trade. 3. Hello, Is there a map (preferably on-line) that shows the different districts of Johnston County? In the 1850 census, I show the Henry Kirby family residing in Johnston County, District #9. Then, in 1860, they are in the Wilson District of Wilson County. Now, between those years, Wilson Became a county--taking for it some of Johnston county. So, with a map that shows where Dist. 9 is, I can start discovering if they moved, or the state changed around them.
