    3. >Wynell, I have been putting together my Ingram data and would like very much to share the info with you if you are interested in the family that went to Alabama, and then on to Mississippi. My great-grandmother Mary Jane Polly Sills Roberson Ingram was first married to Tyre Roberson, who died young, leaving one child, my grandfather, Alfred Bennett Roberson. About six years later, Polly married Isaac Ingram, a neighbor's son. Isaac Ingram is the son of William and Bythenia Lee Ingram. William is brother of your Needham. These families moved to Lowndes County and Wilcox County about 1817. I also have info on the Sills, Lee, Hill, and a little on the Thorton families. Would like to learn more about the Jernigan and Westbrook families that married into the Ingram family. Also, the Thorton family has been very difficult to put together. Let me know if you are interested in exchanging info. Freda Roberson Noble Gualala Ca > >------------------------- > >Our line is Needham Ingram born 27 May 1780, married Nancy King. 3. Hi Sami, I'm looking for the parents and siblings of John GILES. John was born in 1797 (according to his grave marker) in NC (according to the U. S. census). John married Elizabeth PETTUS on January 28, 1828 in Johnston County, NC. Elizabeth was born in 1807 (grave marker) in NC (U. S. census). I suspect John's father was William GILES of Johnston County. But I have no proof of this. William married Lydia WOOD on August 27, 1793 in Johnston County, NC. Have you ever heard of any GILES, WOOD or PETTUS in Johnston County, NC. Have you ever heard of William GILES, Lydia WOOD, John GILES or Elizabeth PETTUS anywhere in NC? 3. Freda, I think that there are errors or, at least, a lack of clarity in some of your William Ingram material. I am about to leave NC for several days and can not take time right now to send much in the way of additional information. Below however are my comments on the parents of Shadrack and Joseph Ingram. I will try to send more comments when I return. My teacher in this regard was Virginia Howell who lived or lives in TN. I cannot recall now whether she descends from Shadrack or Joseph Ingram--Shadrack I think. Nevertheless, she documented and I verified that Shadrack and Joseph had different mothers. Shadrack inherited land in John Lee, Esq's Will. Shadrack Ingram is named as John Lee, Esq's grandson. Virginia and I both believe that Elizabeth, the daughter, was also the grandchild of John Lee, Esq and might have been named in his Will, but part of the Will is not readable and so we shall never know for sure. In any event Shadrack for sure and perhaps Elizabeth are older than the other children of William Ingram, Testator of 1771, and are by his first Wife. We do not know the given name of William Ingram's first wife but we do know that she was the daughter of John Lee, Esq. I am fairly certain that Elizabeth the daughter was not named for William Ingram's second Wife. I do not think that anyone knows for sure the maiden surname of William Ingram's second wife, Elizabeth. If someone does, I hope that they will share their documentation or reasoning. I hope that this helps. This is a subject in which I have great interest and I hope that those who share with you will include me in their messages. f_w_i@msn.com Thanks, Franklin Ingram, Raleigh, NC ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ted and Freda Noble" <tnoble@mcn.org> To: <NCJOHNST-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 07, 2001 1:30 AM Subject: [NCJOHNST] William Ingrams again???? > > 1 William Ingram > --------------------------------------------- > Death: 1771, Johnston County, N. 3. As always, thank you for responding to my inquiries. You seem to be a much more thorough researcher than others whose info I have seen, so I am going with your info. I live too far from the original resources to do any true research, but I am grateful for every word that is put on-line. Will forward any letters that I receive directly related to this subject.
