Posted on: Johnston Co. NC Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Johnston/2113 Surname: Wall, Hinton, Hocutt ------------------------- "Cousin Gary", My Hinton ties are to Lucy Ann Hinton. Her father and mother were Malichi Hinton and Eliza Ann Hood. Malichi's parents were Malichi Wimberly Hinton and Edith ? well, her last name is still unknown to me. The list of this Hinton line goes on and on. I have tracked them back to England as a matter of fact!! They seem to have a very rich history.Back to Lucy Ann, her husband (My great grandfathers brother)was John Hopkins Wall. There father ( My 2nd Great Grandfather) was Bennet Wall. Finally it goes back to Jessie Wall Sr.,(brother of William Wall). As for the Hocutt ties I believe they were on William's side of the Wall family, with Joseph Wall when he married Eliza Hocutt. Some other Hintons married to the Walls are William Thaddieus Hinton, born July 7, 1858 died March 7, 1925. He married 1st wife Molly Wall(I believe they were married July 5, 1897)2nd wife Rosetta Wall. Another is Joseph Thomas Hinton born Sept. 4, 1856. He married Elizabeth Wall Nov. 16, 1876. George Malachi Hinton married Nancy Wall Dec. 26, 1883. Finally Martha Ella Hinton born Oct. 1, 1866 married Stephen Wall, they were married in Johnston County on Jan. 19, 1887 at his fathers house by J.L.Whitley. I have yet to establish ties to these Walls. Please respond if you have Questions or Answers, or just keep in touch!!!!!!!! Jonathan---

FROM ANCESTRY.COM--I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS FREE OR NOT. Betty Pace YORK COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, 1773-1901: LISCHY'S REFORMED CHURCH Jacob Lischy, an immigrant from Switzerland, arrived in Philadelphia in 1742 and became a Reformed minister the following year. He served all of the Reformed congregations in York County at various times between 1745 and 1770. The late William J. Hinke translated Lischy's records from German to English in 1921 and again in 1941. His manuscript has been microfilmed by the Genealogical Society of Utah. The records in this database span the years 1773-1901 and include the names of more than 6,700 individuals. Thanks Gail, for your posting, but it seems we have differing opinions. Is that all your own personal research? Ok,---now you have Nathaniel Thornton as born 1752?? Then who is the Nathaniel Thornton who was a witness to a deed to Thomas Thornton Jr. in 1755---Who was the Nathaniel who bought land from Samuel Eldridge in 1760? And---by the way---if the Thomas Thornton Jr. was born in 1755---who is the Thomas Thornton Jr. who bought land in 1755? There just seems to be a good supply of Thomas and Nathaniel Thornton's in that area! The arithmetic has to work out halfway sensibly---or am I really that blind?? Please help me out here. You also have Eldridge Thornton's 2 wives transposed. He married 1. to Sally Westbrook, had a child Ursala that died young and so did Sally. Then Eldridge married 2nd to Mrs. Elizabeth Ryals Westbrook, of which my William Thornton was their eldest child. Mamie ============================ From: "Gail Hopkins" <gh529@one.net> > Hello List; > Here is the information on Nathaniel Thornton who is m. to TWO women he is son of Thomas Thornton b. 1726 m.
